Green buildings are the latest innovation in construction, intended to create structures that are environmentally conscious, cost efficient, and healthy. Capobianco, Inc. has excelled in the fulfillment of LEED requirements, put in place by the United States Green Building Counsel.
As general contractor of the new Tuttle Avenue Elementary School, we are recognized to have built the first LEED Gold Certified School in the State of New York. This project included features such as geothermal wells, daylight harvest corridors, solar panels, electronic light sensors, and many others, all blended into a state of the art building, unique in its design and functionality. Included as part of the LEED requirements, Capobianco, Inc. coordinated a specific waste management plan, obtained only FSC-certified wood products, purchased regional materials, meticulously charted post and pre-consumer recycled content, and complied with volatile organic compound restrictions. We are proud to have made our mark in the LEED building industry, and are confident that our future LEED projects will be equally successful.
